1. Wreathmaker
Kit
- this is an unassembled wreath. A veteran can put it together
himself (or we can do it) and take the wreath to a fellow veteran. My
thought of course was to make one for Jim and Stoney. Then the chapter
can take them out at their convenience to the cemetery.
2. Dog Tag
Remembrance - The WAA national office offers a Dog Tag program.
Supply the information of a fallen veteran and replica dog tags are made.
One tag goes with you and the other tag is taken to Maine and hung on one of
the balsam trees in their honor. The family is welcome to come up to
Maine and hang the tag themselves. However, this year our Board of
Directors is taking a group trip later this Fall to Maine. On the trip we
will be personally hanging the dog tags from Houston. There is no charge
for this.
Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin – For Lone Star members
who continued their service after Korea and served in Vietnam as well. The
MEE will have on board the Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins that are a part of the
USA Vietnam War Commemoration. We will present them their pin as well as
a proclamation. We would like to know who and when they are coming
for this so we can prepare
